Ever since hubby and I got our new Mac for Christmas I’ve been aching to clean out the home office. It is a hodgepodge of arts and crafts, photos, old yearbooks, and ancient office supplies. It is the type of room that’s only purpose was to collect our mementos from past lives that no longer fit into our married life. I often get lost when I enter this room.
The first thing we must tackle in this “office” is the bookshelf, which hardly holds anything worth actually reading. Our “real” books live on the two ginormous bookshelves in the family room. Yet, as easy as this is for me to admit, I find it ever so difficult to get rid of these books. Hubby is as guilty as I am.
Here is just a small sample of our ludicrously worthless library:

A mini-yellow-pages. One of three. Plus we have four other normal size phonebooks. I wish they’d save a tree and not print these things so often.

My Precious Moments bible. We all had one at some point in our childhood. It would be a shame to see this thing in the trash.

My high school senior project notebook. I learned how to do yoga in a semester. Lots of fun. I still love yoga. Maybe that is why I dread throwing this notebook out.

Spiderwick Chronicles minibook. We got this from a happy meal at least a year ago. I just took it out of its plastic wrapper to photograph it. I don’t think it’s vital to keep around.

Honda motorcycle guide. Hubby got rid of his motorcycle before we met. I doubt he still needs the guidebook.

Nutrition for Dummies. I bought this book my sophomore year in college. I’ve never once opened it.

Cliffs notes. Need I say more.

My macroeconomics college textbook. How did this book get so dirty?

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul Journal. There are plenty more where this came from.
These are all items I don't think I'll miss once they're gone. But I can't say it won't be hard to say goodbye.

That's quite a sampling from your collection! I never do get the point of the mini phonebooks. Why would I need it in two sizes? Best of luck with your office overhaul!
