Wintry travels

The ice-covered sidewalks this morning gave me a tinge of excitement for what is coming next weekend. Hubby, my sister Melissa, my brother-in-law Bryce, my niece Madeline, and I will be traveling to the mountains to spend the weekend tucked away in a log cabin. We rented a 2-bedroom place called “A River Runs Through It #2” near Valle Crucis between Boone and Banner Elk as our group Christmas gifts to one another, since we couldn’t think of anything else we might possibly need. Last year around the same time our big Cuban family rented an enormous cabin in Gatlinburg that ended up being tons of fun. We thought we’d try to recreate that memory on a much smaller level.
“A River Runs Through It #2” has a private, 6-person hot tub, a cozy fireplace, king beds, an air hockey table, is close to shopping and skiing, and sits in the middle of the woods on the bank of Watauga River. I seriously wish I could fast-forward to next weekend!
I “borrowed” these photos from the Blue Ridge Rentals web site till I can take my own.
