Because Saturday was absolutely gorgeous 78-degree weather in Durham, Hubby and I decided to get our lazy butts off the couch and head outdoors. We narrowed our selection of outdoor activities down to the following: kayaking on Jordan Lake, hiking at Jordan Lake, hiking at the Eno River, hiking at Duke Forest, playing golf, playing frisbee golf. We decided that the cheapest of these options would be either frisbee golf or hiking at Duke Forest. I preferred hiking at Duke Forest and I voiced that opinion. I won. Paxton the dog was thrilled with our final selection. The cats were thrilled that Paxton would be out of the house. It was a win-win situation all around.

View of New Hope Creek
After hiking in about half a mile, you come to the top of this 450-foot hill that overlooks New Hope Creek.
Ooh what fun. But really, 78 degrees! You must be joking! Love all the pictures.. wonder if you pressed on that split tree trunk to see if the door opened to some hidden cavern below.
I am a 29-year-old wife of a chef and mother of a little boy and girl, 2 cats and a dog. I have lived in Durham for 6 years, before that, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Morganton, Poughkeepsie, New York, and Johnson City, Tennessee. I love to travel and experience customs unlike ours here in America. I love to photograph all of my experiences, new and old, and am pleased that I can do that for a living. I am also a writer and graphic designer in the Triangle area. My passions are photography, writing, eating, dancing, singing, cats, traveling, hiking, scrapbooking, chocolate, wine, talking, listening, movies, books, clothes, my husband. Did I leave anything out?
