Best voice forward

Does anyone like to sing in their car on their way to work, or is it just my all time favorite commuting activity? I gravitate towards very emotional ballads first thing in the morning, sometimes in the realm of adult contemporary, sometimes in the realm of R&B. This morning it was of course Mariah Carey, who fulfills both music genres perfectly.
The interesting thing about this morning’s Honda-on-Fayetteville-Street performance is that I’m not feeling 100% well. I am slowly recovering from a viral infection/cold/sore throat, but even that didn’t keep me from belting out the tunes.
Even more ridiculous is that I took pleasure in the subtle hoarseness in my voice. It gave my very off-key notes that much-needed edge.
Am I alone in liking how the human voice sounds when sick and raspy?

no, you are not alone. i've had a sore throat for about a week and have found my talent at belting out christmas carols much improved.

I too like singing in the car...best place to do a private show...I am always surprised that I have voice even when I have laryngitis, and I have to admit, I do enjoy having a variation of the normal one.

No, everyone loves the sick and raspy! Since I walk to work, I don't have the shelter of a car in which to do my singing. That doesn't stop me though. Half the time I'm singing and the other half I'm trying to learn Japanese phrases out loud, so pretty much the whole walk to work I'm "talking to myself". I walk down a pretty sketchy main street for the last half of my commute too, so it's kinda funny.
