Homemade bread is something I've never really attempted (except for the time my mom gave me a helping of the infamous Amish Friendship bread starter. The timing for that wasn't so good though, as hubby and I received it right after Caleb was born and we never remembered to bake the bread on the proper days).
Debbie used the Quick Rising White Bread recipe from the Joy of Cooking, which makes enough dough for two loaves of bread.
We decided to divide the dough into equal halves, using one half for a loaf of bread and the other half for cinnamon rolls.
After rolling out the dough into a "rectangle," we covered the exposed dough with melted butter and a sugar/cinnamon mixture.
Debbie carefully rolled up the rectangle, working the dough from the center outward to create and even thickness all the way through.
We then used a piece of dental floss to slice the roll into individual cinnamon buns.
The floss creates an amazingly clean cut.
We filled a 9x9 greased glass pan with the raw cinnamon buns, pressing them down with our knuckles, semi-flattening them.
They, and the bread, cook for 10 minutes at 450 degrees, and another 15-ish minutes at 350 degrees, or until you tap on them and they sound fairly solid/hard.Immediately after removing them from the oven we topped with homemade vanilla frosting (powdered sugar, unsalted butter, dash of vanilla extract, splashes of milk). The frosting melts over the cinnamon rolls, coating them in sugary goodness.
Meanwhile the bread bakes at the exact same times and temps and is also pulled out of the oven when knocked upon and sounding firm and hollow. It's a perfect little loaf!So thank you Debbie for my newest addiction, cinnamon rolls (which I baked more of this evening).

Yum! I love the idea of making bread AND cinnamon rolls, I'll have to try that. You've got my mouth watering.
Can I have one? They look yummy.
Congratulations!!! I am sure they are beautiful...and good. I would love to hear the story of the event.
This would be a serious problem at my house, if I had this recipe. In fact, don't give it to me! They look absolutely scrumptious!
