We all scream for ice cream

Having just returned from a fantastic family vacation in Destin, Florida – home of white sands and translucent ocean water – the very first thing I want to report is the discovery of Bruster's Ice Cream.
I had heard of the company before from my sister Melissa who lives in High Point. She and her husband are fans and have been for awhile. We don't have one here in Durham (the location closest to us is in Raleigh, and yes, it's worth the drive).

From the moment I set sights on Bruster's while driving down Highway 98 in Destin I knew I would be paying them many a visit.

The menu changes regularly and is quite lengthy. You can taste just about any flavor your heart desires before making a purchase. It became my routine to taste three flavors before selecting one.

Here is my darling mother indulging in Double Chocolate Chunk.

This is my single scoop cup of Peanut Butter Puddles (vanilla ice cream, gobs of peanut butter, and hunks of Nestle Crunch). Melissa's single scoop is Cookie Dough with Nestle Toll House.

Madeline (aka Magpie) is feasting upon her complimentary kid's cone.

At first a little hesitant...

Going in for small bites at a time...

Then moving on to monstrous mouthfuls.

Magpie had the right idea though. This stuff melts fast in the hot Florida sun.

And a proper lady always cleans her ice cream mustache when it's all said and done.

Four very satisfied ladies. No female drama here. Just happy, sugar-filled bellies.

Oh good, I can get the complimentary kid's cone. I wonder if they count how many times you come to the counter.
