Mothers...read this

Every mother needs to read this book: Lift, by Kelly Corrigan. Besides a tender hug from my son, this was the best gift I received on this very special Mother’s Day. Better than my hour-long rejuvenating facial, better than tickets to see Taylor Swift, and even better than Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream from Bruster’s.

My mom gave me this book and I only wish she had read it first so that she could truly know it was as good as she promised it would be.

The author, Kelly Corrigan, writes this quick read as a letter to her daughters, telling them of who she is now – the person they won’t remember because they are still far too young. The purpose of the book is to capture a memory for her children, and the author has done so.

The moment I finished reading the book – with tears in my eyes – I thought, “I need to lend this to Jennifer, no wait, April, no Bridget, no perhaps Jeni…”

But quite honestly I can’t think of a mother who wouldn’t enjoy this book. And yes if it were a movie it would air on Lifetime.

Thanks mom, for a wonderful gift! – Now go read it.

And for my momma-in-law, of course you can read my copy while you're here this summer.
