Mommy in focus

I received an odd phone call one afternoon this past March from a UNC School of Journalism student who was working on a Photojournalism project and she requested me as the subject. The project was titled "Lady Liberty" and captures the essence of five professional women. The student photographer, Erin Smith, thought of me as the first-time working mother. She followed me around with her camera at my office, at Caleb's daycare, and at home. The project was extremely creative and she was so delightful and professional to work with. Just this evening I received a disk of photos from Erin in the mail. These were some of her favorites.

I am so glad you got copies of these great photos. I love the one with your reflection in the mirror of the crib and the last one with you reading to Caleb. So sweet and wonderful.

Wow Melanie that's such an awesome thing to be a part of! What an honor that she asked you! Great pictures of your daily life, I absolutely love it.

I agree with both Pam and Kristin...the honor of being 'asked' is awesome and the plain fun of the family shoot, what could be better....plus the photos for keepsakes...love it!
