No, he didn't actually. And I love him all the more for it. This is a post about the Anniversary surprise, which he planned for us that happened two Saturdays ago but that I'm just now getting around to sharing with you guys. There were snakes involved though. Hubby and I went to our usually Saturday free wine tasting at Wine Authorities where they were showcasing snakes from Liz's King Snakes, among a number of tasty wines.
After the tasting hubby and I headed back to the house to get Caleb down for his nap. As we were lounging around the doorbell rang. There to greet us at the front door were some wonderful friends of ours - Pam and Rick - holding a bottle of Cava and a box of Dolly Mama Chocolate Sea Turtles. Oh I how I adore these two people. They had come to shower us with gifts for our anniversary, including babysitting for Caleb while hubby and I wandered out into Durham for whatever surprises awaited us.Hubby drove the two of us to Sutton Station in Durham and parked in front of Bella Trio Day Spa. He had arranged for us to have couples' massages.
We got full body Swedish massages and then sat in the sauna for 10 minutes before showering and preparing for Part II of Anniversary surprise.
Our next stop was Six Plates on Erwin Road. We drank yummy beers and ate two small plates.
We ordered the cane creek beef sliders- seared shiitake cap, roaring 40’s blue cheese, and horseradish sauce for our first plate and a cheese plate second.
We finished off our tasty beverages unhurriedly, and then headed back home to reality. Anniversaries provide such excellent opportunities to do things that remind us who were are as a couple, instead of who we are as a family. I love it both ways, I know that much. Even more so, I love having a hubby who is so good to me and our son.He is a magnificent creature, even if he did make me pet a snake. Ick.

Wow...when I saw the snakes I was confused because I did not think that you would like snakes...so glad to know that I do know you that well. The rest sounds divine. I am glad you'll had such a 'sweet' anniversary, and I love the romantic side of my son....wonder where he got that??? :-)
