Hubby drove by the restaurant late this afternoon on the way to pick up our child from preschool when he smelled something intoxicating, something - as a man - he just couldn't resist. It was smoke rising from the grill parked in front of Foster's Market.
He called me immediately and we planned on meeting there for dinner this evening. What a great decision!
Their On the Porch menu for this week included:
Espresso Molé Pork Chops, Herb Grilled Game Hens, Charred Tomato & Cotija Stuffed Poblanos, Citrus Roasted Chayote & Black Bean Salad, and Sweet Potato Flan with Spiced Caramel.
I ordered the charred tomato & cotija stuffed poblanos and herb grilled game hen.
Hubby ordered the stuffed poblano as well, plus the espresso mole pork chops and black bean salad.
Caleb ordered a dinner roll and a side of grapes.
Eventually his tall drink of whole milk spilled all over him and we had to remove his shirt.
Lucky for us it is a family environment, so no one took offense to our shirtless child.
Going shirtless is always more acceptable when you're are sitting outside, under the blazing sunshine and a canopy of wisteria in bloom.
Is there a better way to enjoy an evening with family?

Mmm, looks good! Bet Caleb ate mostly the bread. Love the wisteria.
I Love the story of "The Thursday Dinner Outdoors"...I thought the fact that the milk went 'through' the chair to get to the ground was worthy of notice. The shirtless child made all other dinners wish they were at your table...I am sure. I love the wisteria as well, I can almost smell the smoke myself.
