Green thumb

My son has quickly developed a green thumb - and perhaps this is natural for children his age. Not only does he love being outdoors, but he wants to pick flowers, dig in the dirt, rip up thriving vegetables from his daddy's garden (shhhh....don't tell daddy there are a few missing collard leaves).  It's hard to tell your child 'no' when his desire is simple - to explore what nature has provided him. I realize that hubby has worked tirelessly to fertilize, water, and maintain flower beds and the winter/early spring vegetable and herb garden. But when Caleb wants to play, who wins?

I guess it is pretty obvious who won, huh? That little dirt-covered hand tells no lies.

I love that Caleb wanted to give the birds a flower by placing it in the bird feeder, very sweet. And just look at that cute belly. Who wouldn't let him play in the dirt.

eye yai yai yai..so cute...you must get him a garden of his own to plant some seeds or just to stick his fingers in, or toes...I'm sure it would not be the same.. :=)
