My sister Michele and I are pretty fanatical about photography. She in the form of video production and direction, and me in the form of still photography. What for some folks might have been just an ordinary week away at the Maine coast was for us a photographic adventure. Our July trip to Maine together was amazing - the scenery is impossible to ignore. There is nothing ordinary about it, not even the sunsets.
One evening after a home-cooked dinner, Michele and I set out to find a sunset. We didn't have to drive far. Just three minutes from our house sat the harbor. We quickly found an empty space on a lobsterman's dock and set up our tripods. The following photos capture what we saw over the next hour.
It just goes to show that a singular sunset can take on many forms. All beautiful, all unique, and all worth the wait.

Beautiful photos! I love that you have photos showing the orange of the sunset and then it turning to purple hues, just gorgeous!
Beautiful!! Sunrise in Maine is if possible even better, though a little more painful to get up for. In Acadia I've braved the cold windy morning to be the first on the eastern seaboard to witness the sun rise. Really beautiful every time.
I love the boat and water pictures that you placed all around the sweet white church with steeple...makes me breath deeply.
