Ch-ch-ch-changes

Since my baby shower this past weekend, I've had a couple of days at my disposal to begin noticing some significant changes around the house.

First of all, this is the overwhelming abundance of gifts showered upon baby Natalie. Boy are we fortunate to have such generosity in our lives!!!  Some of the bags are filled with hand-me-down items, which we were equally thrilled to receive.

But what I've noticed since the shower is that our home has already become less spacious.  Hubby and I quickly realized we'll need to dispose of unused items and clean, clean, clean; this means we are officially nesting!!  Hubby is also busy reconstructing our closets (blog post to come on that topic).

After doing our first load of baby girl laundry, I noticed another monumental change.  The lint trap to the dryer now produces pink instead of blue. I know, I know - a silly thing to note, but it made me grin.

It's amazing how quickly you forget the size of baby clothes.  Caleb is now practically a teenager and his clothes - while not huge - are definitely bigger and can't be constricted to darling piles as can infant clothing.

Then there is this new category of clothing altogether: bloomers.  They are adorable and will be worn under all the gorgeous dresses Natalie received.

We've begun seeing new themes unfold before us.  Only girls get to wear cupcakes...

And mice holding purple hearts...

And strawberries...

And ladybugs...

And things that say "Daddy's Girl"...

And things that say "Little Sister"...

And candy colored dresses...

Hand-me-downs come with their own set of rules. We must cheer on athletic teams other than Mississippi State.

We proudly welcome all of these changes. We are getting ready for our daughter. Hopefully she'll arrive right on time in seven weeks. But her clothes are washed and ready now!
