New Year's Eve Dinner

To help ring in the new year, hubby and I decided to invite some friends over for a celebratory dinner yesterday evening.  We kept it simple, since we waited until the last minute to throw the food together and because toddlers were going to be present.  We wanted to only use ingredients we had around the house and hubby decided to create three small plates. Our guests provided the dessert, which I forgot to photograph because we didn't eat that until additional party guests arrived around 10 pm.

First course: Truffled white bean salad with basil in a tomato cup

Second course: Pan-seared quail with bourbon molasses sauce on grit cake with chiffenade mustard greens

Third course: Braised osso bucco with angel hair and asparagus confit
