Party in Pittsboro

Caleb's friend Liam had his 1st birthday party today, so the Busbee family trekked out to Pittsboro to share in the family celebration.  Liam's family lives in a gorgeous older home near the center of town on a 2-acre lot that I like to refer to as 'the farm.'  It is not really a farm, but does have chickens, dogs, homemade cider, bees, and many different forms of homegrown produce.  It is beautiful and every time we pay a visit, hubby always wants to move to Pittsboro.

Pittsboro has local bakers that can bake beautiful birthday cakes with only 24 hours notice (as seen below).

Yards in Pittsboro have white picket fences and hammocks for swaying in the breeze.

Dogs roam free and happy within the confines of the white picket fences.

Pittsboro makes people feel like they can play the mandolin, even if they've never before picked one up.

And in Pittsboro, people wear birthday hats on the side of their heads, as if to say, "Hey, I live life carefree."

I'm sure not everything in Pittsboro is fun and games and sunshine, but at least for the duration of little Liam's birthday party, and for our time visiting with the family, it was a beautiful day.  Happy 1st Birthday Liam!
